Politicians are of interest to this artist as they have immense influence. They propose, support, and create laws or policies that govern the land and, by extension, its people. I have painted those who have commanded my attention by their notoriety, capability, principles, integrity, or tenacity.

I have painted a politician’s face because visually the emotion displayed was powerful, so I made a good image to work with and create in paint. Portrait painting still has value in this digital age. The painting captures a picture for posterity.
